 NORTHWEST SCIENTIFIC ASSOCIATION

The history of DEMO: An experiment in regeneration harvest of northwestern forest ecosystems. Northwest Science 73:3-11.

Background

The Northwest Scientific Association is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 1923.  Our organization has a long and proud history of providing opportunities and promoting the work of scientists throughout the northwest and beyond. Most of our members are from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Montana, Alaska, and British Columbia. Our members are professional scientists practicing a myriad of scientific disciplines (from forestry and lichenology to geology and wildlife, with everything in between) from state, federal, private, tribal, and academic institutions. We also encourage student membership and offer student grants for undergraduate and graduate students to engage in scientific research projects. We also value the membership of citizen scientists, naturalists, and those folks just interested in all of the science that is happening in our area.
