The Northwest Scientific Association's Board of Directors is delighted to welcome five new Board members!
- Brooke Bain-White is a limnologist and PhD candidate at the University of Montana,
- Dylan Fischer is an ecosystem ecologist and Professor at The Evergreen State College,
- Andrew Merschel is a forest ecologist, ORISE Postdoctoral Scholar at the U.S. Forest Service Pacific Northwest Research Station, and Co-Director of the Tree Ring Laboratory at Oregon State University,
- Richard Waitt is a Research Geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey,
- Dana Warren is an ecosystem ecologist and Associate Professor at Oregon State University.
Brooke, Dylan, Andrew, Richard, and Dana bring considerable disciplinary expertise and new perspectives to NWSA's Board of Directors. They will also replace recent term-limited departures from the Board, filling roles on our various sub-Committees. Each of our new Board members has previously contributed to NWSA's work and/or to Northwest Science, and we appreciate their willingness to commit further time and effort to supporting the Association.
Thank you to the many NWSA members who voted in the election of our five new Directors. Active participation of our membership in nominations to the Board of Directors is vital to the functioning of the Association and one of the primary benefits of NWSA membership.
We look forward to working with Brooke, Dylan, Andrew, Richard, and Dana, and congratulate them on their successful nomination to the Board of Directors!
