    Northwest Science - Publication Costs

    Northwest Science levies publication fees to cover costs of editing and producing the journal and to provide income to the publisher, NWSA. Fees differ between open access and traditional access publication formats.

    • Article processing charge for permanent open access articles and notes:
      • $2,500,
      • No page charges.
    • Page charges for non open access articles and notes:
      • Black-and-white pages $65/pg (NWSA members) or $80/pg (non-members),
      • Color pages $71/pg (members) or $86/pg (non-members).
    • Comments and replies (3 journal pages or less):
      • ​​​​​​​Permanent open access,
      • No page charges,
      • Page charges as above for any comment or reply exceeding 3 journal pages.
